Roundabouts
The use of roundabouts are quite
common and they are often large and arranged in a
good manner. In addition, many roundabouts are
designed in a nice way and some are equipped with
nice art installations. Look at the roundabout for
the way to Denia harbour as shown in the following 3
pictures.

The lights are changing colour
giving interesting effects on the art structure.
A
"roundabout" which is not
In
Norway we may find
roundabouts where one or two of the roads are
passing the roundabout in a straight line. This is
done by moving the centre circle to the side.
At the main sea-side road in
Denia, the solution is different:

A circle is placed to the left
side of the westwards lanes of the main sea-side
street.

The cars in the circle have to
stop for the cars on the main straight sea-side
street. (From the right on the picture)

Driving eastwards on the main
sea-side road does require the pass at the right
side of the circle and further out on the main
street again.
The arrangement shown is not
a roundabout and is not marked as such. This
although the central circle is there. The driving
rights are, however, different.
